Risks of Sitewide Links

Risks of Sitewide Links The measurable risk of any particular SEO tactic is very hard to measure. After all, experimentation with successful sites in the SERPs is not only dangerous, but also expensive and time-consuming, while avoiding risks by using precautionary measures is virtually costless.

Sitewide links are part of an ongoing discussion at SEW, while link building systems like DigitalPoint’s Co-Op tool are also under scrutiny. I personally don’t try any known risky tactics (other than the occassional large scale link purchase). My view is generally that such tactics are not immoral or improper, but simply dangerous and therefore, should be avoided unless there is a good reason to risk your ranking success. I also am of the opinion that it is much easier to sleep at night, knowing you’ve earned your ranking position success, than to worry that your tactics could, at any moment, cost you your business…
