For a little Friday fun, I came up with ten sentences you may read in an email from someone whose writing has clearly been influenced by the Web:
- “I really digg that noob girl that Accounting hired.”
- “Whoever pwns a blue Dodge Stratus needs to move his car because it’s parked next to a hydrant.”
- “Did you notice the lights flickring yesterday?”
- “Thanks for inviting me to dinner Friday night. The lasagna you made was del.icio.us.”
- “FYI: I’ll be in late on Wednesday because I’ve got an eye doctor’s appointment to get my site checked.”
- “I gotta come in and do some spring cleaning this weekend–MySpace at the office is getting a bit cluttered.”
- “The art museum is featuring a Picasa exhibit. I was thinking of checking it out.”
- “Did you watch the Tigers game last night? They pulled off a close one ftw.”
- “I’m not sure when I’ll be able to stop by, but I’ll AIM to be there by eight.”
- “I’m planning to make a lot of food for the party, so I’d really appreciate it if you could come over early and mashup the potatoes while I prep the turkey.”
The death of the written word, ladies and gentlemen! Sigh…
